A look back on our successful transformation of the easyJet Bag Drop area at Glasgow Airport, where effective queue management played a key role in improving passenger flow and overall experience.
Prior to the installation, the airline was facing challenges with poor visibility and unclear way-finding. Passengers often struggled to locate the correct check-in area, resulting in people wandering through the terminal and arriving at the bag drop already stressed. By the time travellers reached the correct location, congestion and bottlenecks had already formed, creating unnecessary pressure on both passengers and staff.
To resolve this, we implemented our Nextrac system, creating a clearly defined and highly visible easyJet zone within the terminal. Using a combination of branded panels and portal structures, alongside our market-leading Beltrac magnetic belt barrier posts, we delivered a structured, intuitive layout that guided passengers naturally to the correct location.
The impact was immediate. Visibility was significantly improved, passenger flow became smoother, bottlenecks were reduced and the check-in process felt calmer and more efficient. Most importantly, the solution helped ensure a far better start to the passenger journey, demonstrating how thoughtful queue design and clear guidance can make a measurable difference in busy transport environments.
